Children climbed inside a giant whale at St Catherine’s Walk, Carmarthen.
As part of St Catherine’s Walk summer of fun, the centre invited shoppers to cast off their shoes and squeeze into a fabulous life-sized 50ft (18m) inflatable whale. Enclosed in a lobster-net fence and guarded by a nosy Fish Wife, brave swashbucklers were led into its belly, revealing a lavishly decorated seascape interior. Once inside, children were excited as they encountered a shipwrecked Pirate with a treasure tale to tell and a real live Mermaid with a haunting siren’s song and an intriguing secret.
John Nash, St Catherine’s Walk centre manager said: “What a great spectacle to welcome to the centre. Shoppers were amazed to see the life size inflatable whale. It was a fun and memorable experience for children of all ages!”
